About the Role
Bosch Charleston is seeking qualified manufacturing engineers to launch eAxle production and support the next phase of e-mobility products at our Charleston, SC site. This role serves as a competency leader in gearset assembly processes for electric axles, requiring a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing principles and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Act as process owner for the gearset/transmission loop of the e-Axle production line.
- Develop product knowledge of transmission and gear components, including confirmation processes for their assemblies (measurement, meshing, etc.).
- Establish best practices for processes and create associated training/documentation.
- Support and implement lead plant/IPN processes and standards.
- Support ongoing production with problem solving, documentation, and trials for process improvements.
- Derive required manufacturing attributes from customer characteristics, driving the development of Process FMEA (PFMEA) and Control Plan.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners (process development, quality, suppliers, production, logistics, quality) for process and equipment optimizations.
- Communicate and participate with lead plants, International Production Networks, Center of Competency, and Expert Teams on latest technologies and process improvements.
- Conduct and/or participate in customer-required process assessments and audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (or similar field).
- Minimum three years’ experience in automated, industrial manufacturing.
- Self-starter with innate curiosity and willingness to lead development of technical processes.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional and international teams.
- Structured and systematic work approach, with adaptability to dynamic changes and multi-tasking.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
- Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Adept in systematic problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Shainin, etc.).
- Project management skills and ability to lead teams.
