Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer - Milling
About the role
The Military Aircraft Group at Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join their Prismatic Manufacturing Group. This role involves developing and optimizing CNC Mill machining processes, creating detailed CNC programs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC Mill machining processes for both new and legacy components
- Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions that meet rigorous engineering specifications
- Define operation sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements for precision part fabrication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems and enhance producibility
- Create detailed operation sheets and NC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies
- Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design improvements
- Aid in the creation of machine-ready code and assist with program prove-outs and troubleshooting
- Estimate setup/run times and tooling hours; contribute to cost estimation for new business proposals
- Mentor junior engineers and lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes and equipment
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant professional experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of proven professional experience
- Proficiency in CNC Mill Machining
- 3+ years experience CNC Programming using CAD/CAM software
- Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation
Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- Experience with machine automation integration
- Skills in inspection of machined parts
- Hands-on experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum
- Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus

Pay
Buffalo, NY: $80,000.00–$120,000.00 Annually
