Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Creation of work instructions and analysis of collected process data in the MES.
- Investigate and resolve production issues.
- Ensure all assemblies are compliant with technical drawing requirements and quality standards.
- Design tooling and fixtures and specify capital equipment to support product assembly and test.
- This includes follow-through with fabrication of tooling and fixtures by internal and external suppliers and purchase of capital equipment.
- Assess and reduce process and safety risk through FMEA and HARC.
- Introduction and validation of new processes and designs to the shop floor.
- Assist in dispositioning discrepant material.
- Design work centers to improve productivity, quality, and flexibility.
Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities
- Requires a B.S. degree in a technical field (Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- A minimum of 2 years related experience required.
- Experienced with low-volume, high-complexity assembly and system testing. Turbomachinery, balancing, precision assembly, precision inspection, LabView, desirable.
- Experience with Laser welding and Machining desirable.
- Experience with tooling design using Solidworks and GD&T.
- Experience creating and improving work instructions. PicoMES a plus.
- Experience working in ISO9001 or similar environment including awareness of document control and change management procedures.
- Familiar with creating Routers within an ERP system.
- Experience with Global Shop is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with metrology equipment.
- Awareness of Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- Open to developing new skills and taking on new responsibilities.
- Good interpersonal and interfacing skills (communicating well with people across different departments both internally and externally).
- Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands / Work Environment
