About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer functions with a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety for Toyoda Gosei (TG) Texas (TGTX) and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (AMCs).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize tooling, and production equipment to enhance manufacturing efficiency
- Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues within the production environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality, to improve system performance and reliability
- Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment in alignment with production needs
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve mechanical failures and improve reliability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, enhance safety, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Ensure compliance with Toyota Production System (TPS), Lean Manufacturing, and safety regulations
- Participate in cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects through innovative engineering solutions
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams on new or modified equipment/processes
- Communicate technical information clearly in written reports, presentations, or discussions with team members or clients
- Manage projects including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with teams, suppliers, and clients
- Build prototypes, conduct experiments, and test designs
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar) to develop detailed mechanical designs (nest, fixtures) and documentation
- Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)
- Work in assembly area with processes that involve the construction of parts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent years of experience
- 1 to 4 years of experience in an engineering role
- Familiarity with Toyota Production Systems (TPS), Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred
- Experience working with automatic screwdriving and clip assembly process, heat stake and ultrasonic welding

Skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2016 or newer
- Familiar with CNC machinery (Haas)
- Familiar with CAD software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar)
- Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence and Teledyne Dalsa
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills
- Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers
- Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
