Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities
- Assist with supporting the production build of various systems on the manufacturing floor.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate the Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build.
- Create and modify work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.
- Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
- Attend and participate in customer meetings, confer with engineers, technicians, and customers to improve build processes.
- Inspect completed systems, partner with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
- Support project production efforts to ensure timely completion and budget adherence.
- Investigate customer or internal issues, determine problem nature and extent, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop cost estimates and programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Evaluate and process Engineering Change Orders.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position.
- Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Work experience: 2+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry with a Bachelor of Science degree; 5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry with an Associate of Arts in a technical field.
- Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
- Good interpersonal skills: ability to work alone or in a team environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, and Bill of Materials.
- Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
- Experience in quick-turn, engineer-to-order environments.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
Skills
- Leverage Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, and Bill of Materials.
- Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
- Work with ERP System Software.
- Prepare and modify work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
- Use electronic Work Instruction software (e.g., Sequence).
- Interact with engineers, technicians, and customers to improve build processes.
- Monitor work for compliance to build and quality standards.
- Investigate customer or internal issues, determine problem nature and extent, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop cost estimates and programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Evaluate and process Engineering Change Orders.
