Responsibilities

  • Act as the liaison between Program Engineering and Production to create, document, develop, and implement procedures required to assemble, test, process, and manufacture aluminum extrusions.
  • Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
  • Implement process techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Confer with suppliers to determine product specifications and arrange equipment, parts, or material purchases, and evaluate products according to quality standards and specifications.
  • Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, including related fixtures and tooling consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
  • Provide engineering support in production departments to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Support company policies and procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Design and approve tooling prior to a build.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or an engineering-related field (required).
  • 3-5 years of engineering or manufacturing experience (required).

Skills

  • Experience working with PLCs (preferred).
  • Experience with controls (preferred).
  • Experience integrating new fabrication cells, automation, and production equipment with existing manufacturing machinery (preferred).
