About the role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in quality assurance and regulatory compliance to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations for electric motor production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes for electric motor production, focusing on scalability, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Lead quality control initiatives, investigations and studies to ensure products meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes and products comply with relevant standards, including ISO 9001, UL, CE, and other applicable U.S. and international regulations.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve production issues using advanced problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA) to minimize defects and improve yield.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation for manufacturing processes, quality inspections, and regulatory audits. Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes into manufacturing operations.
  • Equipment and Tooling: Specify, select, and validate manufacturing equipment, tools, and automation systems to support high-volume production while maintaining quality standards.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to production staff and junior engineers to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure raw materials and components meet stringent quality and regulatory requirements.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a quality-focused role within the electric motor, automotive, or related industry.

Preferred Experience or Skills

  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Strong knowledge in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and regulatory compliance (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or equivalent) as well as Autodesk Fusion 360 CAM.
  • Knowledge of electric motor design, assembly, and testing processes is strongly desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering results.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma certification, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar credentials are highly desirable.
