About the role

The role requires a Manufacturing Engineer to support fabrication planning, setup, and installation. The engineer will provide support at the aircraft during installation or in the laboratory during setup and will work with an in-house shop team of tooling and aircraft mechanics.

Responsibilities

- Synthesize test hardware and instrumentation requirements for machine shop fabrication, laboratory, and flight tests. - Review design models and drawings. - Create and review redlines, coordinating with design teams to incorporate updates. - Author manufacturing plans to facilitate the build process. - Source fabrication and assembly, including work statement creation. - Coordinate fabrication and serve as a liaison. - Source parts from production and procure materials to support testing. - Coordinate with supplier management. - Provide shipside support for test hardware and instrumentation installation. - Support manufacturing engineering tasks across different company sites as needed. - Coordinate with test engineers, technicians, instrumentation engineers, program engineers, customers, fabrication technicians, and designers.

Requirements

A minimum of two years of experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering is required. Candidates must have at least two years of experience with manufacturing planning tools.

Qualifications

- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent non-US qualification is required. - Three or more years of related work experience. - A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. - Three or more years of experience specific to Manufacturing Engineering. - Experience with MESci. - Experience with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) or equivalent engineering change requests. - Experience with redline creation and coordination with design teams. - Familiarity with flight test worksheets. - Knowledge of procurement systems. - Knowledge of electrical fabrication capabilities and processes. - Experience supporting product testing in a flight or lab environment. - Proficiency in CATIA, ENOVIA, NX, or Teamcenter. - Knowledge of machine shop fabrication capabilities, including CNC machining and inspection. - Familiarity with rapid prototyping processes and tools. - Familiarity with stress or structural analysis.

Skills

- A minimum of two years of experience with a design tool such as CATIA or Siemens NX is required.
