Responsibilities
- Support machining operations through tooling development and optimization
- Implement and maintain tooling tracking systems
- Identify tooling-critical features and establish process controls
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity
- Complete PPAP documentation and support production launches
- Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions
- Conduct process audits and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards
- Develop process documentation, work instructions, and quality procedures
- Lead lean manufacturing and variability reduction initiatives
- Support environmental and ISO compliance requirements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or tooling experience
- Experience supporting machining operations and tooling systems
- Strong understanding of tool development, tooling modifications, and process improvement
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Experience with high-volume machining tool manufacturing
- Tool design experience
- Royal and/or Zoller tool presenter programming experience
- Leverage Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
- Experience with PPAP, FMEA, DOE, 8D, and 5-Why methodologies
- Knowledge of Lean tools including 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
- Experience with DMAIC and DFSS project methodologies
- Strong root-cause analysis and corrective action experience
