About the role
Support day-to-day manufacturing operations in a high-mix, low-volume production environment with a strong focus on electronic components, assemblies, testing, troubleshooting, and process performance. This hands-on role partners closely with production, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve operational execution, production flow, first-pass yield, on-time delivery, and process standardization in an electronics-heavy manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support daily manufacturing and production operations for electronics-based products, assemblies, and test processes.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to electronic components, circuit boards, sensors, wiring, test equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Provide hands-on support to operators, technicians, and production teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Analyze production defects, test failures, and process variation to identify root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support testing, validation, and evaluation of electronic components and assemblies within the production environment.
- Drive process improvement initiatives focused on first-pass yield, on-time delivery, quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
- Develop, improve, and standardize manufacturing processes, work instructions, test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Partner with quality, design engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to support product builds, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen the site’s overall troubleshooting capability by coaching teams, improving diagnostic methods, and building practical problem-solving standards.
- Support new product introduction, product transfers, engineering changes, and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve production flow, reduce rework, eliminate waste, and improve overall operational performance.
- Maintain clear technical documentation to support production, quality, training, and long-term process control.
- Use data from production, testing, quality, and delivery performance to prioritize improvement efforts and measure results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, test engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical role.
- Hands-on experience supporting a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong electrical and electronics troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing issues with components, assemblies, wiring, circuit boards, and test systems.
- Experience working with electronic components, electromechanical assemblies, sensors, controls, or industrial electronics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, test procedures, and engineering documentation.
- Experience supporting test processes, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and production issue resolution.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach to manufacturing support.
- Experience driving process improvement, standardization, and operational performance improvements.
- Ability to work effectively across production, quality, engineering, and operations teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an electronics-heavy manufacturing environment.
- Experience with industrial measurement, sensing, instrumentation, controls, or automation products.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, standard work, visual management, and structured problem-solving methods.
- Experience supporting first-pass yield, on-time delivery, rework reduction, and production flow improvements.
- Experience with test equipment, fixtures, troubleshooting tools, and production test methods.
- Experience supporting new product introduction, engineering changes, or product transfers into production.
- Familiarity with ERP, MES, quality systems, or production data analysis tools.
- Experience coaching operators or technicians on troubleshooting methods and process standards.
Success in this role looks like
- Production issues are resolved quickly and with clear root-cause understanding.
- Troubleshooting capability improves across the site, not just within engineering.
- Processes become more standardized, repeatable, and documented.
- First-pass yield improves through better diagnostics, corrective actions, and process control.
- On-time delivery is supported through faster issue resolution and stronger production readiness.
- Cross-functional teams have clear technical support and practical solutions that improve daily execution.
