Manufacturing Drywall Subject Matter Expert

BLOX is revolutionizing the construction industry by integrating advanced manufacturing principles with innovative technology to deliver high-quality, modular building solutions. We are seeking a Drywall Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead our Finishing Academy and standardize our high-velocity Level 5 production process. This role is ideal for a master finisher ready to transition from hands-on work to a leadership position, architecting our finishing standards and training operators to achieve Level 5 perfection on a 3-day production cycle using mechanical tools and advanced skimming techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hands-on certification of the "BLOX 3-Day Cycle" (Bazooka, 10-12" Box, and Double-Skim).
• Train operators on Hot Mud chemistry (45/90 min) to eliminate overnight wait times.
• Oversee the maintenance and calibration of the automatic taping tool fleet (Bazookas, Boxes, Pumps).
• Perform final "Critical Light Audits" (5000+ Lumens) to ensure zero flashing or joint photographing.
• Standardize mud-to-water "recipes" for every stage of the finishing process.
• Utilize the Trade Skills Matrix to assess all operators in drywall finishing skills and behaviors, assisting operations leadership with evaluations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in high-end residential or commercial drywall finishing.
• Expert-level proficiency with Automatic Taping Tools (Bazooka) and Flat Boxes.
• Proven experience with Roller-Applied Skim Coating and Skimming Blades (16" to 48").
• Ability to break down complex manual skills into repeatable steps for new trainees.
• Comfortable using dustless power sanding systems (Planex/Mirka).
