About the role

We are partnering with a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing company that is developing next-generation production technologies to transform how complex metal components are designed, built, and scaled. This organization operates at the intersection of engineering, automation, and manufacturing innovation, supporting some of the most demanding applications in the aerospace, defense, and advanced hardware sectors.

As a Manufacturing Development Engineer, you will develop manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, and production methodologies for highly complex metal components. This role offers the opportunity to work on greenfield manufacturing challenges, partnering closely with engineering and production teams to bring new technologies from development into scalable production.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable manufacturing processes for new products and production systems.
  • Develop, build, and refine tooling, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing aids to support production.
  • Create and improve testing, inspection, and post-processing procedures.
  • Establish process documentation and manufacturing standards to support operational growth.
  • Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.
  • Support the transfer of new manufacturing processes from R&D into full-scale production environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, and operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience through internships, co-ops, or professional roles within manufacturing, production, or development engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with machinery, fabrication equipment, tooling, or complex hardware assembly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of manufacturing or production engineering experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with precision machining, additive manufacturing, or advanced metal processing.
  • Exposure to fixturing design, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and process validation.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production tracking tools.
  • Ability to translate engineering concepts into repeatable factory processes.
