Position Summary
The person in this role will be responsible for the inventory accuracy of packaging and raw materials, as well as finished goods. This includes auditing and validating physical inventory levels and working with Purchasing and other cross-functional teams to help find solutions to optimize inventory levels. The Inventory Cost Analyst will also handle complex functions like maintaining bill of materials for new item setup and tracking cost revisions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the cycle count program, to include researching and correcting discrepancies with all inventory movements and reconciliation in JD Edwards
- Lead the audits of monthly packaging cycle counts and verifications; notify teams of exceptions and variances
- Maintain accurate BOMs for costing with inputs from Purchasing, Commodities, and Operations
- Work in conjunction with the Inventory Control Analyst, Purchasing, and the Business Development teams in the setup of new products in our systems (JDE, Workfront)
- Perform product costing and analysis for all items with review by the Inventory Control Analyst
- Handle account reconciliations and shrink variance analysis
- Cycle count big ticket packaging items; reconcile and adjust when needed
- Process inventory adjustments as needed
- Point of contact for Operations for work order reclassifications
- Examine and evaluate current processes regarding inventory movement through JD Edwards and RF Smart scanning systems; produce reports and present results to management
- Collaborate with internal and third-party teams and perform inventory adjustments when required; confirm physical inventories monthly and / or as needed
- Initiate Inventory Control team training sessions to improve cross training functionality
- Maintain and update Inventory Control SOP’s as applicable
- Assist with the review of data entry for all raw material and WIP downgrades
- Run and distribute reports for Logistics (POP reports, shipping discrepancies, open PO reporting, etc.); review inventory transactions to include Slow Sales & FIFO designations
- Maintain Flavor Room controls and receipts for inventory including monthly audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations
- Audit bin reports, roaster batches, and yard inventories; assist in gathering details for financial reporting and manufacturing reviews
- Supply other reporting data as needed; prepare key performance indicators
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while fostering a workplace environment consistent with the values and missions outlined by the leadership of MZB-USA
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance strongly preferred
- 2-4 years’ experience in accounting/financial analysis required
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines and multiple priorities
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, ability to provide accurate, timely, courteous, and professional communication, with a strong desire to reach resolutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, Outlook, new product systems
- Must demonstrate skills and ability with JD Edwards or comparable warehouse management system
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team player and collaborates well with other departments
