Manufacturing Chemist-2nd shift

Polysciences technical operations and scientific laboratories offer custom synthesis, contract manufacturing and packaging, and laboratory products. We provide tailored solutions for the life sciences, bioprocessing, microparticles, medical device, specialty chemical, and eChem industries. We adhere to ISO13485:2016, FDA cGMP 21 CFR 820 regulations, and SOCMA’s ChemStewards® Management System.

Responsibilities

• Perform synthesis batches for Specialist Products (SP) and Lab Products (LP) as published on the weekly production schedule.
• Receive training to execute established production processes.
• Work cross-functionally with other operational teams to resolve equipment and technical issues.
• Complete and document all activities and deviations per company GDP and QMS standards.
• Perform departmental preventive maintenance (PM) and daily activities per established procedures.
• Aid in non-conformance investigations and adapt corrective actions within assigned timeframes.
• Ensure a safe working environment by following procedures, protocols, and 5S visual standards.
• Report near-misses, accidents, or safety violations immediately and assist in EHS investigations as needed.
• Contribute to inventory accuracy by tracking batch issuance, consumable usage, and waste per assigned batch tickets.
• Communicate concisely with peers and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Experience with electronic maintenance programs preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to read technical documents and manuals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry reactions and typical methods of purification.

Schedule

Second shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–2:00 AM.
