Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical leader for manufacturing processes, automation systems, equipment selection, and process capability improvements
- Support development of long-term manufacturing technology plans involving automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, and advanced process controls
- Lead equipment-related projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and validation
- Cook with equipment vendors on schedules, performance, factory acceptance testing, and site acceptance activities
- Research and implement advanced manufacturing technologies, including automated process and material handling solutions
- Partner with maintenance and mechanical teams to troubleshoot recurring equipment issues and improve long-term system performance
- Document best practices and provide training to support equipment reliability and process consistency
- Lead cross-functional efforts related to equipment changes, process improvements, and manufacturing layout updates
- Mentor and support Manufacturing Process Engineers and Process Specialists by providing technical guidance and project leadership
- Help prepare manufacturing operations for new product introduction by supporting quality, throughput, and process readiness
- Ensure compliance with applicable technology control and export control requirements
Qualifications
- Two-year or four-year degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience with industrial control systems
- Experience with automated equipment that includes programmable logic controllers, stepper and servo control systems, HMI systems, and Fanuc robots
- Rockwell Automation or Allen Bradley experience is preferred
- Ability to write, review, and maintain technical and process documentation
- Ability to create and modify schematic drawings using AutoCAD
- SolidWorks 3D CAD experience is preferred
- Proficiency with PLC ladder logic, HMI, and SCADA systems
- Knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation
- Hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience leading manufacturing or automation-related projects
- Strong communication, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
