About the role

As a Manufacturing/Automation Engineer, Level 1, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing procedures involved in manufacturing processes. Duties include researching automation techniques to maximize production line efficiency, supporting manufacturing activities, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Research and implement automation techniques to optimize production lines.
  • Support manufacturing activities by assisting with product flow, tooling, and fixture design.
  • Consider the environmental impact of manufacturing processes.
  • Design and install machinery and equipment, obtaining necessary certifications (e.g., laser, X-ray).
  • Implement efficiencies and ergonomic improvements.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and develop both automated and non-automated systems.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production, leading automation projects, and providing technical support for manufacturing.
  • Aid in the development of new products to ensure efficient manufacturing.
  • Manage improvement projects to reduce costs and enhance product quality.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • 1-4 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool design.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., SolidWorks, MS Office).
  • Project management skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Teamwork skills.
