Manufacturing Automation Engineer II

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medium to large projects to develop custom manufacturing equipment ranging from stand-alone operations to fully automated manufacturing systems.
  • Work effectively within a cross-functional, operations and engineering team as an equipment automation engineering subject matter expert.
  • Design, implement and validate solutions to improve the performance of existing manufacturing equipment.
  • Capture manufacturing process and equipment knowledge that can be reused and shared across projects, teams, and manufacturing locations.
  • Create manufacturing equipment engineering projects plans and budgets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with preferred 3-5 years of related engineering experience.
  • Extensive automation experience.
  • Programming PLC’s, HMI’s, temperature controllers, vision systems and robots.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with a broad range of applications, customers, suppliers and team members.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects of varying size, scope and complexity.
  • Experience with the use of lean manufacturing tools and principles.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD for designing and documenting manufacturing equipment layouts, mechanical components, and electrical schematics.

Desired Qualifications And Attributes

  • Electrical panel design experience.
  • Background in machinery and manufacturing system design.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and statistical techniques used in manufacturing (i.e. FMEA’s, DRBFM’s, process flow maps, SPC, control charts, process capability, MSA, Gauge R&R).
  • Leverage Lean Product Development experience.
  • LabVIEW programming experience.
