Manufacturing Associate I

Responsibilities

• Aid in cell culture activities: vial thaw, cell passaging, cell counting
• Support Single Use Bioreactor (SUB) bioreactor operations, including set up, pH/DO probe calibrations, media additions, inoculation, etc.
• Perform cleaning, weighing, mixing, and process monitoring, maintain inventory of equipment parts, clean room supplies, and test materials/supplies (e.g., integrity testing of filters)
• Assist in assembly, disassembly, and operation of bioprocess and laboratory equipment such as bioreactors, filter assemblies, and pump setups
• Prepare buffers, media, and other solutions needed for manufacturing practices
• Investigate environmental excursions and deviations

Qualifications

• AS/BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry, or Life Sciences
• 0-2 years’ experience in Biotech/Pharma industry
• 0-2 years’ experience in GMP
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity
• Ability to work and stand for long periods, lift 30 - 40 pounds
• Availability for extended day shifts, weekends, and holiday work
• The ability to work in a clean room environment with good aseptic technique
• Word processing skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
