Manufacturing Associate

About the role
The Manufacturing Associate assists designated machine operators or production teams with maintenance, clean-up, yard work, warehouse tasks, production, utilities, material handling, and related functions.
Responsibilities
- Handles repetitive or sequential tasks as assigned
- Maintains a clean work area and uses safety gear at all times
- Reports unsafe conditions or defective equipment to supervisors immediately
- Cleans machinery, conveyors, floors, and removes reusable scrap for salvage
- Transports trash and debris away from production areas
- Keeps pallets neat and orderly
- Operates machinery or equipment following safety guidelines
- Assists lead operators or supervisors in shift production preparation
- Learns the mechanics and operation of assigned machinery
- Works with conveyors, ramps, elevators, hoppers, bagging and sealer machines, forklifts, palletizers, hydraulic equipment, and powered tractors or vehicles (internal certification/training required)
- Operates a variety of hand tools
- Assists in loading/unloading trucks and completing shipping/receiving documents
- Packages and labels products properly
- Handles stockpiles and verifies loads leaving the premises
- Maintains, verifies, and counts product inventory
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and follow detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to follow company production and safety procedures
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of two-digit numbers and multiples of 10 and 100)
- Ability to pass internal certification training
- Must demonstrate lock out tag out procedures and keep key or lock with self at all times
- Must attend weekly safety meetings
- Good regular attendance is required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 100 lbs. from ground level

Pay
$20 - $21/hour, with a $2/hour differential for graveyard shift.
