SHADE TECHNICIAN
Represented through designer showrooms, our product is sold to interior designers, architects, and high-end window covering retailers. We work closely with our customers and master weavers to create a product that is truly unique. We go above and beyond our clients' expectations with a true commitment to outstanding and individualized customer service, drawing on over sixty-five years of growth and experience.
- Work in our Bayview District workshop – No previous shade experience required.
- The primary responsibilities and duties for this position:
- Assemble hand-woven shades, includes measuring and making adjustments to shades.
- Must be able to use hand tools. Scissors, hammer, ice pick, hand-saw, staple gun, etc.
- Able to work on a ladder up to six feet higher or more.
- Absorb and assist in opening, sorting, and bundling shades when we receive shipments.
- Absorb and assist in carrying, moving, and storing boxes, tubes, etc.
- Must be able to record measurements on shades for quality control requirements.
- Absorb and assist in clean up at the end of the day.
- More duties may be assigned as needed.
Some sewing experience desired, but not mandatory. Willing to learn more about our product. Motivated!
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of US money, measuring tape, and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and talk or hear.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and color vision.

Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors.
