Manufacture Engineering Technician
About the role
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician position at Urban Sky is central to the company's efforts in developing and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures. This role involves constructing new machinery and equipment, conducting tests and inspections, collaborating with engineers and production personnel, maintaining records, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, training and guiding production staff, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Construct new machinery and equipment.
- Conduct tests and inspections of equipment and products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to identify production problems and recommend solutions.
- Help maintain records of production performance and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Train and guide production staff on new processes and equipment usage.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing programs.
Requirements
- Proficient fabricator capable of general assembly and experience in at least one trade such as machining, welding, and general use of shop power tools.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with machinery setup and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance.
- Proficient with computer software (e.g., CAD, MRP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Nice-to-haves
- Associate degree in a technical field or an engineering degree.
- A jack-of-all-trades type will do well in this role.
- Start-up experience.
- Experience manufacturing soft goods.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma techniques and tools.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Capability to work in various manufacturing environments, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
- May be required to stand and work up to 12 hours as needed.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Must be located near Denver, CO.

The pay range for this role is 30 - 34 USD per hour (Denver CO HQ).
