Manual Software Test Engineer (TS/SCI)
Principal Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
Validate functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability of web-based and data-centric applications.
Perform integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing across distributed environments.
Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using issue tracking tools.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and system administrators to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Support CI/CD testing activities and participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
Verify data integrity and data flow across large-scale analytics and ingestion pipelines.
Contribute to test automation frameworks and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Rigorously document detailed test processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory for this position and required for consideration.
- Must be willing to obtain a CI Poly.
- Minimum of 14 years of total professional experience in a technical support role, of which 5+ years has been in software testing, quality assurance, or related technical roles.
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, and distributed systems in a variety of environments.
- Knowledge of performance testing and security testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with automated testing tools and scripting languages (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Python, JavaScript, or similar).
- Understanding of software defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated self-starter who consistently takes initiative with limited guidance and instruction.
- BS in Systems Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Systems Analysis, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent or related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, or similar platforms.
- Experience testing cloud-native applications in AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- ISTQB or other software testing certifications.
- Experience working in high-availability, mission-critical production environments.
- Experience as a military/intelligence analyst, supporting the military/IC, or knowledge of some IC PED systems is a plus!
