About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components. Your ability to read blueprints, interpret mechanical drawings, and use various machining tools will be essential to maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce metal parts according to blueprints and specifications.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings, including GD&T requirements.
- Set up machines by selecting appropriate tooling, calibrating measurement instruments, and ensuring proper machine alignment.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Use hand tools and power tools for machining, assembly, and finishing processes.
- Determine machining sequences and tooling requirements from technical drawings.
- Conduct quality inspections on finished parts to ensure dimensions and tolerances meet specifications.
- Assist with machine maintenance, tool setup, and troubleshooting during production runs.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating machinery and handling tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with manual lathes, grinders, mills, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to accurately set up machines for various machining operations, including turning and milling.
- Strong basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and machining adjustments.
