Manual Machinist - 2nd Shift

About the role

Elliott Group, Ebara Corp is seeking a Manual Machinist for their Houston, Texas location. The position is full-time and immediate start.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and quality at all times
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work in a professional manner with internal and external customers
• Advanced knowledge of machine equipment and machining operations
• Advanced knowledge and accuracy in using various measuring devices
• Full understanding of tooling, drawings, work scopes, procedures, specifications and documentation
• Perform most complex setups and machine tool operations
• Read and comprehend drawings, sketches, job scopes, and verbal instructions
• Maintain equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements and notifying the appropriate representative for troubleshooting and repairs
• Accurately measure and record all dimensional inspections as needed and pass annual dimensional inspection tests
• Complete layouts of most parts
• Train other employees in operation of equipment, reading prints, selection of tooling and machining equipment, along with repair processes
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Document actions by completing production and quality logs
• Accept ownership over work performance and stay updated on job knowledge and new skill development

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• 5-8 years’ experience with rotating turbo machinery
• Advanced rigging capabilities
• Advanced machining capabilities on manual lathes
• Experiences with turbines, compressors and other rotating equipment
