About the role
Our Client is seeking a skilled Gun Drill Operator to join a precision manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for an experienced machinist who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts and working safely in a deadline-driven setting.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate gun drilling machines to produce precise, deep holes in metal parts.
- Configure work-holding fixtures for production runs.
- Perform precision drilling while maintaining required roundness, straightness, size, finish, and concentricity.
- Use measuring tools to inspect parts and verify dimensions meet design specifications.
- Maintain and sharpen drill heads as needed.
- Follow coolant system procedures to maximize tool life and machining performance.
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Requirements
- 2+ years of machining or related manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience using measuring tools and precision machining equipment.
- Ability to read and follow technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with tight machining tolerances
