Managing Veterinarian

About the role

Small Door is a membership-based veterinary care service that offers exceptional care, 24/7 telemedicine, and transparent pricing. Founded in 2019, we have expanded across the East Coast and are preparing to grow further in 2026.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat pets with illnesses and injuries
• Counsel clients in pet care
• Model medical excellence to a team of two to four doctors
• Uphold Small Door's culture and values
• Mentor doctors relating to their clinical skills and performance metrics
• Collaborate with the Member Experience Manager and Head Nurse
• Manage controlled substances and ensure proper documentation

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent with an active state and DEA license
• 8+ years of experience in the field
• A professional approach with excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication
• A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the code of ethics
• Experience managing a team and mentoring veterinarians
• A 'glass half full' attitude and sense of humor

Qualifications

• Passionate about veterinary medicine and animal welfare
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
