Position Overview
We are looking for a Managing Partner who has the desire to make a real difference in people’s lives and wants to be a true business partner in a high-growth, high-performance organization. This is more than a General Manager role — this is an ownership mindset role. Our Managing Partners lead from the front. They build strong teams, drive exceptional member experiences, and operate their club like it’s their own business. Responsibilities
- Build strong teams by networking, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring managers and team members
- Direct management of team, including setting weekly management schedules and assigning areas of responsibility to managers
- Oversee and maintain training standards and coach and develop team members to drive sales performance
- Consistent development and coaching of team members and manager, including training in employment policies and practices
- Conduct staff meetings and set staff goals
- Grow the business to profitability and energize the team around daily, weekly, and monthly objectives
- Ensure member resolutions are done timely as member retention is key. Monitor scoreboard performance of the staff to meet or exceed expected KPI standards
- Maintain a crisp, clean facility with equipment operating 100% of the time
- Manage employee payroll and scheduling ensuring the club is adequately staffed at all time
- Command of all offerings, amenities, and equipment utilization
- Ensure and monitor compliance and accuracy with all policies, procedures, and standards
- Monitor inventory in the club and ensure timely restocking
What Success Looks Like
- Build a high performance team through networking, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring managers and team members
- Responsible for the successful and profitable operations of a gym
- Exceptional member experience with rapid issue resolution, high retention/satisfaction, and clean/crisp facility with all things working
- Full business ownership— driving people, culture, financial results, margin optimization, and brand standards
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of fitness facility or service-oriented management experience required
- Demonstrated experience owning and managing a location or department profit & loss (P&L), including budgeting, expense control, and driving revenue to achieve or exceed financial targets
- Experience with supervising a team of at least 15 employees required
- Experience with business operations such as finance, administration, and labor management required
- CPR/AED certification required (can be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to take assertive action to accomplish objectives, innovate and solve problems
- Knowledge of key metrics and drivers to grow business
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite or similar software
- Ability to invest financially in opportunity
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor degree in business management or related field preferred
Physical Requirements
This is a physical role requiring the employee to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may require standing or bending for prolonged work hours.
