About the role
The Managing Optometrist leads and owns the business within the marketplace and organization, ensuring the brand promise is delivered through superior patient experiences and key performance metrics. This role focuses on providing the highest quality optometric care while fostering a positive culture and driving business results.
Responsibilities
- Create a compelling vision for the future, develop clear goals, and ensure executional excellence in partnership with Regional and Store Manager(s).
- Set and communicate clear objectives, demonstrating commitment to exceeding results through KPI management and accountability.
- Establish LensCrafters as the leading optical provider within the community.
- Operate as a stakeholder within the organization and local market, placing the patient/customer at the center of focus.
- Deliver excellent service and strive to exceed expectations on all KPIs.
- Lead and manage the team in providing unsurpassed patient service excellence.
- Address all patient/customer visual lifestyle needs and build long-term relationships.
- Provide a summary of patient/customer overall eye health and conduct service in accordance with protocol and accepted standards of care.
- Establish a positive doctor/patient relationship and utilize technology to enhance the patient experience.
- Ensure effective communication with office and store associates for a seamless patient experience.
- Maintain office quality systems and state licensure, including continuing education requirements.
- Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and timely feedback to team members.
- Conduct performance management and address problem performers directly.
- Foster a positive culture aligned with corporate vision and values.
- Lead effective store huddles and conduct chart audits with Associate Optometrists.
- Recruit, interview, and select high-caliber talent, creating a pipeline for succession planning.
- Forecast staffing needs and adjust levels to meet patient demand.
- Adhere to company policies, maintain office appearance, and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry degree.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Knowledge of current optometric technology and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Knowledge of sound business management practices.
Pay
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. You may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
