Managing Economist (AEA 2027)

For our client, we are seeking a Managing Economist (AEA 2027) to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will lead sophisticated economic analysis and quantitative research in support of client engagements across complex business and legal matters. The position will focus on building rigorous statistical and financial models, interpreting results, and translating technical findings into clear deliverables for clients and internal stakeholders. You will also partner with senior leaders to support business development, mentor junior team members, and help maintain high standards of quality in a consulting environment. Location: Los Angeles, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $240,000 – $260,000 annually Responsibilities Design economic, statistical, and financial analyses Develop financial data and market models Manage client relationships and deliverables Mentor and manage junior staff members Conduct quality control and industry research Contribute to business development efforts Qualifications PhD in economics with a focus on empirical industrial organization or a related field Experience with econometric modeling techniques is essential Work experience in antitrust or financial economics is preferred Strong interest in economic analysis and research Experience using AI tools for data analysis and research support Record of technical expertise through publications or research Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytical software such as Stata or R Benefits Advancement opportunities within a growing consulting firm Potential for signing and performance bonuses Comprehensive benefits package Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
