Managing Director, Production Services

Main Purpose of Job

The Managing Director of Production services directs and oversees the high-level business, operational, and financial strategies required to execute production. This position provides the infrastructure and resources necessary to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Position Duties

• Allocate studio space, equipment, staff and freelance talent pools to ensure multiple projects run concurrently and efficiently
• Develop and implement overarching department budgets, forecasting spending, and managing payroll and client billing
• Supervise production crews, technical directors, and production facility managers and handle contracts
• Design, develop and maintain standard operating procedures and digital systems to maximize productivity, operational efficiency output and quality

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Experience: Minimum seven (7) years of experience of executive/operational experience in production, with proficiency in budgeting, team leadership and workflow optimization

Desired Or Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a nonprofit media station
• Experience with videography, studio and field production, and digital media asset management (MAM systems)
• Experience with professional non-linear editing (NLE) and post production systems such as Adobe Pro, Avid, or Davinci Resolve
