About the role

OPEN MINDS is the premier market intelligence and management consulting firm focused on serving consumers with chronic conditions and complex support needs, including mental health, addictions, autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities, long-term support services, social services, children’s services, juvenile justice, and corrections health care. The Managing Director, Market Intelligence Services is responsible for the operation of the Circle Market Intelligence service line, ensuring the quality and usability of online content and optimizing the service as a revenue source.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the full strategy, growth, P&L performance, and operational delivery for OPEN MINDS market intelligence service lines.
  • Strategic Growth: Designs the long-term vision, go-to-market strategy, and expansion roadmap for the service line.
  • Financial Accountability: Owns the P&L, revenue targets, pricing models, and budget allocations.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensures operational delivery of quality, on-time market intelligence; establishes service delivery standards, KPIs, and scalable processes.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partners with sales/marketing and technology to align execution with enterprise objectives.
  • Talent Development: Mentors high-performing teams and manages the General Manager, Market Intelligence.
  • Manages the Daily Executive Briefings, including writing, review, editing, layout, posting, updates to production tracker, and interviews.
  • Creates concise, high-impact copy, documents, or presentations for senior leadership.
  • Manages the production cycle for market intelligence service lines, including editorial planning, topic selection, content production, layout, editing, and publication.
  • Researches and implements new editorial decisions for publications based on topic, project, or campaign.
  • Reviews and edits publications for style, tone, length, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Develops and coaches writing staff to organizational standards; assists with artwork, photography, and text selection.
  • Facilitates collaborative teamwork among editorial, marketing, and product teams to ensure a unified brand message.
  • Ensures publications are completed on time and within budget.
  • Analyzes subscription service metrics (e.g., subscriber types, renewal rates, readership stats) and reports on content effectiveness to drive future content creation.
  • Edits pre-publication content on online platforms from internal and external sources.
  • Contributes to the subscription sales and renewal process, including facilitating virtual tours for subscribers.
  • Manages the General Manager, Executive Education, including oversight of event logistics, vendor contracting, and staff management plans (e.g., catering, A/V, decorating, exhibitor services).
  • Manages and updates the Events project workplan to ensure timely execution of deliverables.
  • Achieves revenue and profitability goals by coordinating the work of the OPEN MINDS education team and consultants.
  • Oversees the Events Director of Executive Education for marketing strategies and plans, including media and advertising tactics.
  • Leads the development of the company’s education websites using SEO best practices.
  • Conducts final review and formatting of institute presentations for OPEN MINDS consultants and outside speakers.
  • Peer-reviews all Executive Education deliverables, including presentations, marketing materials, website copy, content, titles, and descriptions.
  • Analyzes education business unit metrics (e.g., registrant types, attendance rates, session reviews) and reports on effectiveness to drive future event concepts.
  • Works with business development, consulting, web development, and database teams to market educational content across applicable channels.
  • Leads the development and delivery of high-quality content at OPEN MINDS executive education events, both virtual and on-site.
  • Coordinates with institute chairs and the Events Director to create curricula and agendas that drive attendance by healthcare executives.
  • Finalizes curricula descriptions, session titles, and descriptions for events.
  • Leads the recruitment, outreach, and coordination of institute speakers with assistance from the Director of Executive Education.
  • Manages the education service team and leads the virtual and on-site executive education events attendee experience.
  • Ensures the content website user experience meets current and future client requirements and published articles meet executive content standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry developments and trends.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience working in the health and human services field.
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct independent research, analyze findings, and produce reports for subscribers.
  • Ability to understand and interpret challenging healthcare policy, technology, and data in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience writing thought leader pieces preferred.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to track multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Experience publishing health and/or business content at a large-scale website.
  • Experience editing content and providing detailed feedback on a wide range of topics while proofing for accuracy and layout.
  • Understanding of analytics and experience incorporating learnings into future content production.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, agile, team-oriented environment and embraces change and ambiguity.
  • Curious, collaborative, open-minded individual.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, email, databases, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with a C-level executive preferred.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
  • Ability to travel unattended on an as-needed basis.
  • Ability to use a personal credit card for occasional purchases on behalf of the organization, with reimbursement.
