Managing Director, Financial & Performance Management
About the role
The Managing Director, Financial & Performance Management (FPM) will serve as a senior leader on CBRE’s Healthcare client account, responsible for financial governance, performance management, and value realization across a complex, full-service engagement. This role partners closely with client executives and internal service-line leaders to drive transparency, analytics, and continuous improvement, ensuring financial outcomes, metrics, and insights inform decision-making across the account.
This role is based in Minneapolis and requires working on-site with the client five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide formal supervision to employees.
- Monitor the training and development of staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
- Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
- Cook up and manage the team's daily activities.
- Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
- Set and track staff and department deadlines.
- Mentor and coach as needed.
- Interact and consult with clients to understand business needs.

- Coordinate the resources needed to service projects, build strategic operational plans, and balance the expectations of clients with the execution of work.
- Manage several clients simultaneously, while serving as a point of contact for systems and processes for new and current projects.
- Serve as the go-to person for sales and relationships with key customers.
- Ensure proper services and enhancements are being carried out.
- Troubleshoot and solve conflicts.
- Direct the project process.
- Develop project plans, create a project team, and manage timeframes and performance.
- Verify the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to client needs and objectives as well as contract specifics.
- Consult with internal and client teams to define project requirements, investigating various approaches to attain end results.
- Apply a robust knowledge of multiple disciplines, the business, and key drivers which impact departmental and cross-functional performance.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
- Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans.
- Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.
- Identify and solve multi-dimensional, complex, operational, and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department.
- Significantly improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of relevant experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
- Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to set, manage and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple departments results within a function.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Qualifications
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Managing Director position is $220,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Managing Director position is $240,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
