Managing Director, Enterprise Platform Architecture & Engineering
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Cloud Platform Engineering & Strategy:
- Define and execute enterprise cloud platform strategy with direct involvement in foundational technical decisions, including cloud-native design, multi-cloud and hybrid networking, Kubernetes orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, and platform observability.
- Integrate AI workload requirements — GPU compute, high-throughput networking, and LLM inference optimization — into cloud architecture and capacity planning.
- AI Engineering Infrastructure & Agentic Platforms:
- Architect and evolve infrastructure supporting enterprise AI workloads, including LLM inference and model serving, GPU compute management, vector databases, embedding pipelines, and RAG architectures.
- Define standards for agentic workflow environments covering agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI), tool-calling infrastructure, memory management, multi-agent coordination, and AI observability.
- Developer Experience & Internal Developer Platform (IDP):
- Design and evolve the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), ensuring engineering teams have self-service, automated, and frictionless access to platform capabilities.
- This includes: Environment-as-a-service, sandbox orchestration enabling on-demand, production-like environments for development and testing, including AI model integration environments and LLM-connected sandbox configurations
- CI/CD pipeline engineering, designing, scaling, and governing CI/CD pipelines across the engineering organization, with a focus on pipeline standardization, security scanning integration, delivery velocity, and AI-assisted pipeline automation
- AI-Assisted development tooling driving the strategy for AI-powered coding assistants, automated code review, AI-powered observability, and intelligent testing tooling integrated into the developer workflow
- Developer portal and toolchain integration (e.g., Backstage), GitOps workflows, and shift-left quality and security practices
- Governance, Standards & Modernization:
- Develop and govern enterprise technology standards, architectural patterns, and engineering frameworks, including AI platform architecture standards and responsible AI infrastructure patterns.
- Lead architecture review boards with active technical participation.
- Drive modernization through infrastructure-as-code, SRE principles, platform observability (OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing), and policy-as-code enforcement — ensuring resilience and security are engineered in, not layered on.
- Technology Strategy & Executive Leadership:
- Influence technology strategy and investment decisions across Lines of Business.
- Lead vendor evaluations — including AI platform, model provider, and agentic toolchain assessments — with deep technical credibility.
- Build and develop high-performing engineering teams, mentor senior engineers and architects, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
