Managing Director
About the role
The Managing Director will lead the Texas business of VIOTAS, a technology-driven energy company focused on enabling large commercial, industrial, and data center customers to participate in the ERCOT market. Key responsibilities include owning the market P&L, driving commercial growth, ensuring operational excellence, representing the company at senior levels, building a high-performing team, and providing regular reporting.
Responsibilities
- Owning the market P&L and accountable for revenue, growth, and overall performance
- Acquiring and retaining large energy customers and securing strategic partnerships
- Leading the operational performance of the Texas business, ensuring reliability and compliance
- Deep understanding of ERCOT market dynamics, regulatory landscape, and positioning for value creation
- Representing VIOTAS at senior levels with ERCOT, PUCT, utilities, policymakers, customers, and industry bodies
- Building and leading a high-performing local team, setting a results-driven culture
- Providing regular operational, commercial, and financial reporting to the VIOTAS Board and Senior Leadership Team
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements
- Collaborating with the global leadership team to align market strategy, product development priorities, and organizational goals
Requirements
A proven senior leader with a track record of running a business or a substantial market operation, with full accountability for commercial and operational performance. Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience owning a P&L and delivering against revenue and growth targets. Deep knowledge of the ERCOT market, including market rules, demand response, ancillary services, and grid services. Established network across the Texas energy sector or a clear pathway to building one quickly. Ability to translate market and regulatory direction into commercial and operational positioning, and to set the strategy that follows from it. Genuine leadership ability, building and developing a team, and delivering through others. Excellent communication and representation skills, with the credibility to speak for VIOTAS. An entrepreneurial, ownership mindset, comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-growing international business. Awareness of the power reliability, resilience, and grid-compliance challenges facing large energy users and data centers in the ERCOT market is an advantage.
