J.S. Held's Complex Accounting & Litigation team is seeking a seasoned and entrepreneurial Managing Director to lead and expand our investigative consulting services. This is a senior leadership role for a professional with deep experience in complex investigations and litigation —paired with a strong track record of building high-performing teams and growing a book of business. As a Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the practice, leading high-impact engagements, mentoring talent, and cultivating long-term client relationships across industries and geographies.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of investigative professionals across multiple regions
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on quality, innovation, and client service
- Drive internal knowledge sharing, training, and professional development initiatives
- Oversee and execute complex, multi-jurisdictional investigations involving regulatory inquiries, compliance reviews, financial transactions, and litigation support
- Guide the development of client deliverables including reports, presentations, and data visualizations
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and strategic insight
- Expand your book of business and contribute to the growth of the Global Investigations Practice
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with law firms, financial institutions, and corporate clients
- Represent J.S. Held at industry events, conferences, and client engagements
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in investigative consulting, compliance, or forensic advisory roles
- Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development and client delivery
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex findings into clear, actionable insights
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Experience working across international jurisdictions and regulatory environments (preferred)
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management (preferred)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position during work shift

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $240k - $260k. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
