Managing Director, Associate General Counsel

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing written advocacy, including comment letters to the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, NFA and other regulators, in connection with proposed rules and changes to existing rules and standards.
• Leading SIFMA Committee Meetings with member firm representatives on broker-dealer compliance issues, particularly with respect to broker-dealer regulatory capital, liquidity and accounting issues.
• Engaging with regulators, legislators, market participants and the public through seminars, meetings, conferences, speeches and publications to advance SIFMA priorities.
• Coinciding with outside counsel on comment letters and policy issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of legal/regulatory experience in the securities industry.
• Demonstration of excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Commitment to providing superior client service to internal and external stakeholders, including member firms.
• Demonstration of strong work ethic, commitment, and issue spotting.
