About the role

The position of Managing Cook II is responsible for performing skilled cooking duties including preparing, cooking and planning, kitchen clean up and other duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to standard menus, recipes and verbal instructions using available kitchen equipment;
• Deternimnes and orders selected menu items from central kitchen;
• Operate standard cooking equipment;
• Inspects, evaluates and reports equipment and facilities conditions on safety and sanitation; suggests corrective action;
• Assemble salads, sandwiches, desserts and prepares hot lunches.
• Participates in the cleaning of the kitchen, cafeteria and equipment; assure that standards of sanitation and safety are met.
• Observes proper receiving and and storage practices;
• Maintains accurate employee time records;
• Requests maintenance and repaires of all equipment as needed;
• Maintains current recipe file;
• Opens and closes the kitchen daily;
• Verifies daily bank deposit;
