Managing Consultant - Physical AI (Fujitsu Wayfinders)
Job Location: Austin, Texas; Boston, Massachusetts; Chicago, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; San Jose, California; Washington, D.C.
About the role
Wayfinders Managing Consultants are senior delivery leaders and system owners responsible for end-to-end solution architecture, engineering rigor, and client success on individual Physical AI engagements. Physical AI describes systems that perceive the physical world (sensors, cameras, connectivity), reason about it (AI/ML, simulation, digital twins), and act on it (robotics, automation) — think computer vision-guided quality inspection, predictive maintenance from sensor telemetry, or a digital twin that simulates a warehouse before automation goes live.
You'll own architecture and delivery for a single complex engagement at a time, working hands-on across the stack without necessarily being the primary engineer.
Responsibilities
- Architecture & System Ownership
- Define end-to-end architecture for your engagement, spanning perception, modeling/simulation, and robotics/automation execution
- Decide when to apply rules-based logic, ML, computer vision, LLMs, or hybrid approaches
- Design for scalability, reliability, safety, and security in production physical environments
- Engineering & Delivery Leadership
- Set engineering standards, CI/CD, and testing practices for models, edge systems, and automation logic
- Oversee deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of systems running in physical environments
- Uphold Responsible AI, safety, and governance standards throughout
- Platform & Integration
- Make platform tradeoffs (data/AI platforms, digital twin tools, edge compute, robotics orchestration)
- Integrate physical AI systems with enterprise platforms (ERP, MES/SCADA, supply chain) and physical execution systems
- Client & Team Leadership
- Act as trusted advisor to client stakeholders on your engagement
- Lead and mentor Senior Consultants and Consultants

- Bachelor's required; advanced degree preferred
- Technical Expertise — the physical AI stack
- Computer vision / vision AI
- Industrial IoT, sensors, and telemetry
- Digital twins and simulation
