About the role

The Capital Projects & Infrastructure Consulting team at Guidehouse is seeking experienced professionals with a strong background in the nuclear sector. This includes experience in nuclear power generation, advanced reactor development, permitting and licensing, asset management, system planning, stakeholder engagement, operations, or other roles in the nuclear sector.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and manage complex nuclear infrastructure projects, including advanced reactor siting, permitting, licensing, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies, particularly for advanced nuclear technologies.
  • Manage operational strategy and asset management, such as system planning, lifecycle cost analysis, reliability engineering, and performance optimization.
  • Navigate regulatory environments, including NRC licensing, environmental permitting, and coordination with federal and state agencies.
  • Coordinate nuclear power offtake or interconnection with utilities or hyperscalers.
  • Develop and manage contracts, including procurement strategy, scope control, and commercial terms.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement efforts, including working with utilities, regulators, community groups, and technology developers.
  • Conduct risk management and strategic planning, including identifying delivery risks, modeling scenarios, and supporting investment decisions.
  • Evaluate or plan for nuclear restarts, including feasibility, regulatory, and stakeholder considerations.
  • Utilize AI or large language models (LLMs) in infrastructure planning or delivery, such as using AI tools for risk modeling, document automation, or regulatory analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading client relationships, project teams, and internal staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Regulatory, or Technical fields relevant to nuclear infrastructure development or operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client presentations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, depending on client needs and project location.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA, MS, MPP, MPA, etc.) preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with NRC licensing processes or DOE-funded nuclear initiatives preferred.
  • Experience with permitting and environmental review for nuclear or energy infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with utilities on nuclear power offtake or interconnection preferred.
  • Experience in asset management, system planning, or reliability engineering at operating nuclear facilities preferred.
  • Experience with nuclear waste disposal strategy or supply chain planning for advanced reactors preferred.
  • Experience with advanced reactor design (e.g. Gen III+ SMR), siting, or planning preferred.
  • Experience evaluating or planning nuclear restarts preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI or large language models (LLMs) in the context of infrastructure planning or delivery, such as using AI tools for risk modeling, document automation, or regulatory analysis preferred.

Schedule

The schedule for this role may vary based on client needs and project location, but typically involves up to 75% travel.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00 - $188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
