Managing Attorney

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Managing Attorney to provide hands-on legal leadership and operational oversight as the firm continues to scale. The Managing Attorney's primary responsibility is to ensure strong case management, team performance, and client service consistency, particularly around client engagement, case timelines, quality of work, and outcomes. This role blends legal expertise with team leadership, process improvement, and close partnership with firm leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the legal team to ensure cases progress efficiently and meet firm benchmarks for timeliness and quality
• Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to case flow, productivity, and client outcomes, and implement adjustments as needed
• Develop, refine, and enforce standard operating procedures to improve consistency and scalability across the office
• Partner with leadership to forecast workload, allocate resources, and maintain balanced caseloads across attorneys and staff
• Coach and mentor attorneys and support staff to improve performance, accountability, and professional development
• Ensure a high level of client service by maintaining responsiveness, clear communication, and proactive issue resolution
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce delays

Legal Technical Ability

• Maintain a high level of substantive legal knowledge relevant to estate planning and ensure work product meets and exceeds firm standards
• Review and provide feedback on legal work to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance
• Guide attorneys on complex estate planning case work
• Support the development of attorney's knowledge on estate planning
• Stay current on changes in laws, regulations, and case law specific to your state
• Uphold ethical standards and ensure compliance with all professional responsibility requirements
