Managing Attorney

About the role

Modern Family Law, a rapidly expanding national law firm specializing in Family Law, is seeking a driven, compassionate, and experienced Managing Attorney to join its team in McLean, VA. This hybrid position requires the Managing Attorney to live within driving distance of the McLean office and to oversee day‑to‑day operations while handling diverse family law cases and making a meaningful impact on clients’ lives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, productivity, and profitability of the McLean, VA office.
• Lead, mentor, and develop legal staff through training, motivation, and support.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HR on recruitment and policy compliance.
• Coordinate with other leaders to ensure cross‑departmental support.
• Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice on family law matters.
• Represent clients in court, prepare legal documents, and negotiate settlements.

Requirements

• Five (5) or more years of devoted Family Law experience preferred.
• Must be within commuting distance of the McLean, VA office.

Qualifications

• Active admission to the Virginia State Bar.
