About the role

Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health Operations by handling materials and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. This includes warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, inventory management, and demand, supply, and manufacturing planning. The role involves performing/controlling tasks such as receiving, storing, and shipping products to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient delivery to customers while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize daily outbound distribution operations, including order fulfillment, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Ensure customer and partner orders are processed accurately, on time, and within budget while maintaining high service levels and operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for a team of 3 direct-report supervisors and approximately 75 indirect-report associates.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
• Manage labor planning, staffing, scheduling, and operational expenses to achieve productivity, service, and budget objectives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and leverage technology solutions for enhanced operational efficiency.
• Actively participate in internal and external business meetings, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support organizational objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• 5+ years of experience leading operational teams, managing performance, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive supervisory or management experience, with a proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively lead and manage change within the organization.
• Experience working within a warehouse (or distribution) environment, preferred.
• Inventory planning and processing experience, preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel (Pivot Tables and spreadsheets).
• Prior experience with continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
• Adaptable to operational needs.
• Ability to problem solve through complex scenarios and drive change.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift.
• Proficiency in English is required, including being able to read and write in English to process documents.

Anticipated salary range

$87,700.00 - $125,300.00
