Schwab’s Personal Trust Services (“PTS”) organization provides personal trust products and services to Schwab’s clients, including individual investors, beneficiaries, RIAs, and corporate fiduciaries. PTS products and services are provided through three separate legal entities; Charles Schwab Trust Company, Charles Schwab Trust Company of Delaware, and Charles Schwab & Co. PTS products cover the full fiduciary, agency, and custody spectrum, including fiduciary trust administration and investment management, directed trustee, trusteed IRA, administrative agency, trust reporting, and trust outsourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Support all personal trust program functions and work closely with various business partners across the organization to ensure all program features work as designed and meet internal operational needs and Schwab client needs.
  • Coordinate and manage all Personal Trust Committee meetings and meeting materials.
  • Provide centralized coordination between departments.
  • Serve as a business liaison between product and process owners, ensuring best practices are identified and shared, and that similar processes and procedures are consistently executed across multiple locations and client segments.
  • Manage and enhance management of meetings and meeting materials for the Personal Trust Fiduciary Committee, the Personal Trust Operating Committee, and the Board of Directors, ensuring materials are timely and accurate.
  • Support risk management programs for Personal Trust Services, including risk and controls self-assessment (“RCSA”), business continuity and incident management, records retention, complaints, loss reporting, and operations risk working group.
  • Facilitate regulatory exams and internal testing and audits.
  • Oversee maintenance of all Trust Company policies and procedures and ensure procedures are designed with a “Through the Client’s Eyes” perspective.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor programs in order to meet regulatory expectations and achieve business objectives.
  • Create and maintain internal and external forms.
  • Oversee educational opportunities offered to our Trust Company employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in banking or financial industry, trust and estate administration or related trust or financial experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, coupled with strong problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience with risk, management, and governance reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into well-formulated recommendations and plans.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to research problems, determine root causes and solutions.
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
  • Highly client-oriented focus with demonstrated experience in program management.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills, including ability to communicate effectively to varying levels within the organization from senior management to front-line employees.
  • Collaborative team player with contagiously positive, outgoing, can-do attitude. Thrives on initiating, building and encouraging strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group; highly reciprocal; navigates and activates alignment across organizational silos.
  • Critical thinker who can identify gaps and inefficiencies and create and communicate solutions to management and leadership.
