Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tactical transportation operations with a continuous improvement mindset to generate high service levels while managing cost commitments.
  • Ensure systems and reporting drive efficient transportation operations to provide an accurate portrayal of transportation cost and service.
  • Manage load planning and operations through carrier capacity discussions, timely processing of load building, shipment processing, and customer satisfaction in a cost-competitive manner.
  • Support the strategic sourcing team with analytics for RFPs and sourcing strategies.
  • Remain abreast of industry trends and educate stakeholders on impacts to KPIs.
  • Maintain effective and ethical relationships with suppliers.
  • Train, coach, and mentor direct reports and colleagues.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of supply chain experience or a combination of experience and education
  • Transportation Management Systems (TMS) experience
  • Past management experience with direct reports
  • Experience in consumer-packaged goods
  • Advanced skills with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Transportation/logistics management experience utilizing lean principles
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to consider both strategic and practical implications for proposed course of action
  • Hunger and humility to learn from anyone
  • Food and beverage experience preferred for a large multi-plant organization
  • Experience in refrigerated transportation
  • Ability to prioritize and organize assignments
