Responsibilities
- Responsible for tactical transportation operations with a continuous improvement mindset to generate high service levels while managing cost commitments.
- Ensure systems and reporting drive efficient transportation operations to provide an accurate portrayal of transportation cost and service.
- Manage load planning and operations through carrier capacity discussions, timely processing of load building, shipment processing, and customer satisfaction in a cost-competitive manner.
- Support the strategic sourcing team with analytics for RFPs and sourcing strategies.
- Remain abreast of industry trends and educate stakeholders on impacts to KPIs.
- Maintain effective and ethical relationships with suppliers.
- Train, coach, and mentor direct reports and colleagues.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of supply chain experience or a combination of experience and education
- Transportation Management Systems (TMS) experience
- Past management experience with direct reports
- Experience in consumer-packaged goods
- Advanced skills with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Transportation/logistics management experience utilizing lean principles
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Able to consider both strategic and practical implications for proposed course of action
- Hunger and humility to learn from anyone
- Food and beverage experience preferred for a large multi-plant organization
- Experience in refrigerated transportation
- Ability to prioritize and organize assignments
