About the role

The Manager of Test Engineering leads the Hardware R&D testing team, overseeing test execution from early-stage feasibility through DVT completion for Dexcom’s growing product portfolio. This role involves managing team performance to meet technical objectives, setting mid- and long-term goals, and balancing high-priority requests from competing stakeholders to maximize business impact. The position also focuses on mentoring the team in failure investigations and driving continuous improvement in test processes and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Hardware R&D testing team to ensure successful execution of testing from early feasibility through DVT completion.
  • Define and achieve technical objectives while establishing mid- and long-term team goals.
  • Prioritize and deploy the team to address multiple high-priority requests from competing stakeholders.
  • Mentor the team in investigating testing failures and implementing corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to modernize, scale, and optimize test processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in engineering or a related scientific field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in medical device testing, design, development, and/or verification.
  • Proficiency in structured problem-solving, test method validation, statistical analysis, and related technical skills.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.
  • Results-oriented, self-disciplined, and motivated with minimal supervision required.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of industry experience, including 2–5 years of management or lead experience.

Pay

$128,600.00 – $214,400.00

Travel required: 0–5%.
