Manager, Technology Industry Group (TIG) - Private Equity

The firm is expanding its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) - Technology Industry Group team. The Technology Industry Group is a growing business targeting high growth in the next 2–4 years. A&M’s PEPI practice serves upper middle market and large-cap private equity firms, helping improve operating results at portfolio companies valued between $50 million and $1 billion+.

About the role

The Technology Industry Group brings a structured and disciplined approach to create and capture value. We provide corporate and equity buyers with tools for performance management, mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, joint ventures, and alliances. The team works across the full deal lifecycle—from pre-deal operational and synergy reviews to ‘Day 1’ planning and post-deal implementation—with expertise in restructuring, turnaround plans, and operational risk identification.

Services include buy-side and sell-side due diligence (commercial, operational), Integration Management Office, synergy and performance improvement, TSA, integration and separation planning, Day 1 Readiness, and post-close execution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare major client deliverables, including full ownership of the financial model and presentation with limited support from the senior project team.
• Lead detailed analyses to support project objectives and client needs.
• Design and implement tailored cost optimization initiatives aligned with each business’s strategic goals.
• Lead workstreams, including synergy assessment, cost savings initiatives, org design, financial baseline, and more.
• Assist in operational due diligence and performance improvement, identifying key risks, assessing the business, and creating analyses to support engagements.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
• Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and client presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with outstanding academic performance.
• 5–9+ years of professional consulting experience with software and technology-oriented clients, specializing in buy-side and sell-side operational due diligence, financial due diligence, synergy and carve-out assessments, performance improvement, transaction execution (merger integration, separation planning), TSAs, Day 1 Readiness, and post-close execution.
• Experience leading workstreams in business transformation.
• Functional involvement in one or more of the following areas:
  • Finance, Accounting, HR, and Organizational Design.
  • Role & Job Analysis, Leadership, and Stakeholder Engagement.
  • Communications Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations.
  • Salesforce, Marketing, Pricing, and Margin Optimization.
  • Knowledge Management and Program Leadership.
• Technology sector experience in M&A and performance improvement.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; excellent communication abilities.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, curious, and quick learner.
• Driven, critical thinker with strong initiative.
• Willing to travel up to 25%.

Pay

The salary range is $125,000–$190,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. A&M also offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
