Manager, Technical Solutions
About the role
Manages the Technical Solutions team responsible for the design, development, implementation, integration, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise applications supporting Universal Creative. Oversees software engineering, application integrations, custom development, and technical solution delivery with a primary focus on PMWeb and related business systems. Partners with business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions while ensuring adherence to established engineering standards, development methodologies, and enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Technical Solutions team.
- Lead software development, application enhancement, and integration initiatives.
- Establish development priorities and allocate engineering resources across projects.
- Monitor project execution to ensure delivery schedules, quality standards, and business objectives are achieved.
- Support the Director in executing the Technical Solutions roadmap.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of PMWeb and other enterprise applications.
- Ensure software solutions meet functional, security, and performance requirements.
- Coordinate application upgrades, enhancements, and technical releases.
- Promote software development best practices and coding standards.
- Review technical designs and implementation approaches.
- Manage enterprise application integrations, APIs, and data exchange between business systems.
- Support automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure application interoperability, data integrity, and system reliability.
- Coordinate integration efforts with enterprise technology teams and vendors.
- Supervise and mentor software engineers and application engineers.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and career development activities.
- Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
- Assist with departmental budgeting, vendor coordination, software licensing, and project planning.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field is required.
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, enterprise applications, system integration, or related technology disciplines is required. 3+ years of supervisory or technical leadership experience is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
