MANAGER, SUPPLIER QUALITY
This position is 100% onsite at The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor based in Southern California near Los Angeles International Airport. The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS), and Marvin Land Systems (MLS), specializing in military aerospace and vehicle systems, armament test equipment, and power/thermal management systems. For over 60 years, the company has supported the Department of Defense and global allies across diverse programs and platforms.
About the role
Manage a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and supporting staff to oversee supplier management processes, with the goal of continuously improving supplier quality performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance through collaboration with Supply Chain and supplier visitations.
- Ensure SQE skills and competency support supplier training activities, including Pre and Post Awards, AS9102 FAI documentation, Product Assurance Provisions (PAPs), supplier scorecard systems, Supplier Delegated Inspection (SDI), Supplier Paperless Program, and supplier portal usage.
- Provide oversight for issuing, monitoring, and reporting Supplier Corrective Action Requests, Supplier Notifications, and Return to Green (RTG) Plans.
- Guide appropriate actions and communications using SCAR or QN data analytics to address supplier blockage.
- Monitor and resolve supplier-related risk mitigation with Supply Chain and other stakeholders (e.g., Return to Green Plans).
- Support GIDEP Alert management for purchased products.
- Deploy monthly Supplier Quality Performance Scorecards and coordinate supplier non-conformances to reduce/eliminate rejection causes.
- Lead and foster employee development through coaching, mentoring, and one-on-one performance discussions.
Requirements
- College degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of supplier quality management or equivalent supply chain experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in the aerospace and defense industry, specifically in supplier quality.
- Minimum of 8 years of supervisory or management-level experience.
- Strong leadership in driving accountability, process ownership, continuous improvement, and root cause/corrective actions (RCCA).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal correspondence, work instructions, and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build credibility and relationships with coworkers, leaders, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience creating, monitoring, and reporting supplier quality measures.
- Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) decision-making.
- Experience training employees or suppliers on purchasing and product assurance provisions flow-down requirements.
- Project management skills, including planning, resource allocation, task management, and risk assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
- Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.

Pay
Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $115,000 to $145,000.
Travel Requirements
- Regular local supplier visits (minimum 2-3 per month).
- Occasional travel outside Southern California as needed.
