About the role
Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, seeks a skilled Equipment Finance Manager to join its team. This role is part of the company's captive finance arm, Johnson Controls Capital (JC Capital), which serves North American customers.
Responsibilities
- Support the North American deal pipeline by partnering with Business Unit sales teams, participating in pipeline calls, and identifying financing opportunities for JCI equipment and service contracts.
- Structure and negotiate equipment leases, loans, and other financing arrangements tailored to customer needs and JCI's balance sheet objectives.
- Prepare and review credit memoranda, data tapes, term sheets, and deal documentation.
- Cook up and coordinate with internal and external legal counsel on contract drafting, security/collateral packages, and closing mechanics.
- Support the operational execution of booked transactions, including servicing, billing, collections, and amendments.
- Manage relationships with key counterparties (e.g., co-lenders, banks, customers) and serve as the primary point of contact for North American structured finance matters.
- Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, and credit quality; escalate issues as appropriate.
- Supervise and develop structured finance analysts supporting the North American portfolio.
- Collaborate closely with Treasury, Legal, Tax, Accounting, and Business Unit stakeholders across the deal lifecycle.
Requirements
- Experience: 6–10 years of relevant experience in equipment finance or structured lending at a financial institution or large multinational.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA an asset.
- Technical Skills: Strong credit analysis and financial modelling capabilities; experience with lease accounting (ASC 842), loan documentation, and deal structuring. Familiarity with lease management systems (e.g., Odessa) is a plus.
- Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to originate and close financing transactions; comfortable engaging with sales teams and external customers.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex financial structures clearly to senior leadership.
- Attributes: Self-starter with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset; able to manage multiple deals simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Pay
Hiring Salary Range: $120,000-150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
Schedule
This role is designated as hybrid and is based at our Glendale, WI office.
