Manager Software Test Automation

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Manager Software Test Automation to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will lead a quality engineering organization focused on advancing test automation, validation, and developer productivity across cloud-native software environments. The manager will shape long-term quality strategy, strengthen automated testing practices, and partner closely with engineering teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle. The position also includes building scalable self-service platforms, modernizing CI/CD-enabled automation, and applying AI-driven approaches to improve testing effectiveness and operational excellence. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing Quality Engineering team
• Define and execute the long-term quality engineering strategy
• Create a culture focused on innovation and operational excellence
• Develop self-service quality platforms for independent product validation
• Establish scalable automation frameworks and standardize quality practices
• Implement AI strategies for automation and validation throughout the testing lifecycle
• Embed quality in the software development process using shift-left and shift-right practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6-7 years in software engineering or quality engineering
• 3+ years in a leadership role for Quality Engineering or Developer Platform teams
• Experience building platforms that enhance software quality and developer productivity
• Proficient in automated testing frameworks for cloud-native applications
• Familiarity with CI/CD integration and modern DevOps practices
• Strong understanding of AWS technologies, APIs, and modern software architecture

Pay

Compensation: $147,000 – $163,000 annually
